TARİHİ BİR ŞAHSİYETLE TANIŞABİLSEYDİNİZ O KİM OLURDU?

Sen yaşarken İstanbul Büyükada’ya geldiğin zaman, seninle tanışabilmeyi çok isterdim. Ama maalesef o zamanlar ben daha portakalda vitamin bile değildim. Seninle hiç tanışamasam da platonik olarak aşığım sana be Troçkiciğim…
Bizim buralarda seni pek tanımazlar. “Troçki nedir?” desem yeni bir akıllı telefon uygulaması mı ya da yöresel bir yemek mi diye sorabilirler. Eskiden ben de seni tanımıyordum. Hayatını film izler gibi okudum ve sürekli içimden senle konuştum. Öyle güzel yazmışsın ki. Büyük adam ve büyük yazar olmak böyle bir şey demek ki.
Eğer sen Lenin’e, “Ben Yahudiyim, ön plana sen çık, şimdi bunlar bana Yahudi diye laf ederler, işler sarpa sarar!” deyip Lenin’in önünü açmasaydın, sen-ben diye iddialaşsaydınız, Bolşevik Devrimi diye bir şey olmayacaktı. Bizim ülkemizdeki ciltlerce tarih kitabı okuyup da hâlâ ben senden daha iyi bilirim yok daha çok okudum yok daha entelektüelim diye kavga eden aydınların ise değil birleşip devrim yapabilme ihtimalleri, beraberce pazardan iki kilo domates alabilme şansları bile yok.

Atatürk le tanışmak isterim
Alan Turing.
Why Turing? Because his foundational work in computer science, artificial intelligence, and cryptography positions him at a critical juncture both technologically and ethically in today’s world. If I were to meet Turing, I would ask him about the current data privacy crisis, ethical issues surrounding artificial intelligence, and the technological hegemony of governments/corporations. His analytical mind would likely be able to produce logical and human-centered solutions to these problems, independent of political agendas or power dynamics.
For example, Turing’s breaking of the Enigma code was not just a mathematical triumph, but also a demonstration of his ability to understand weaknesses in systems. Today, issues such as social media algorithms polarizing people, surveillance capitalism, and data exploitation could be reexamined through Turing’s analytical lens. He would probably figure out how these systems are being manipulated and propose a transparent, decentralized digital infrastructure that allows individuals to regain control—something beyond blockchain, breaking the monopoly of central powers. This could be implemented without succumbing to political interests because Turing’s approach always revolved around “cracking the system,” not bowing to lobbyists.
Furthermore, the injustices Turing faced in his own time (being punished for his homosexuality) would enhance his sensitivity towards human rights and freedoms. A person like him today could offer radical yet actionable ideas on how to use technology not just for efficiency but to protect human dignity. For instance, he could design an encryption protocol that allows individuals to control their own data, inaccessible to governments or corporations—which would be revolutionary in today’s world.
